Dr. Anna Company
Group leader

Her current research interests include activation of small molecules such as N2O, O2, CO2 and CO using first row transitions metals, design of catalysts involved in oxidation reactions using environmentally friendly oxidants and characterization of the transient species involved in
oxidation reactions. See list of publications.

Oriol

Mr. Oriol Planas
– PhD student (3rd year) co-supervised with Dr. Xavi Ribas
– Master in Applied Chromatographic Techniques (2013) from Universitat de Girona

Oriol is involved in the preparation of first-row transition-metal complexes for the activation of nitrous oxide using pyrrole-based ligands. He is also working on the development of cobalt complexes for the challenging organometallic activation of C-H bonds.

Ms. Valeria Dantignana
– PhD student (2nd year) co-supervised with Dr. Miquel Costas
– Master in Chemistry (2015) from La Sapienza University of Rome (Italy)

Valeria works on the activation of strong C-H bonds using metal catalysts based on first-row transition metals and fluorinated solvents. She is also actively involved in the detection and characterization of high-valent iron-oxo species involved in such oxidative transformations.

Ms. Carla Magallón
– PhD student (1st year) co-supervised with Dr. Xavi Ribas
– Master in Advanced Catalysis and Molecular Modelling (2016) from Universitat de Girona

Carla is involved in the development of bioinspired models for the activation of molecular oxygen or its activated forms using copper and cobalt. She is also interested in the formation of organometallic Fe species by direct C-H activation.
